Radically Open Security is a so-called Non-profit Venture founded by Melanie Rieback, and - while entirely bootstrapped - has grown very quickly and gained a great reputation by being very open:
- All their pentesting and other security tools are open-source.
- They operate their tools from a chatroom and let their clients observe while testing their weak spots.

Remote OK as a startup offers a page where you can see all kinds of details about the company that are usually kept secret. The founder is also tweeting and blogging about all their experiences, ups and downs included, and this replaces the need to do traditional marketing and PR.
