FOMO Parenting or Sharenting

Creating this topic to introduce a phenomena not addressed before on this forum: A different form of FOMO, where parents feel inclined to share a lot of information online about their kids and how they are raised, in fear of being perceived as ‘not good parents’ (as I understand the concept).

This works similar to how everyone e.g. on Instagram shows their perfect life to their friends on social media, and you feel that you should do the same to display your own success and happiness and such.

This has large effects on kids! When parents see other parents posting their kids awards/activities it creates a weird tension that makes both kids and parents feel inadequate. Very sad.
