I created http://1dollarthings.com originally to create a dollar store experience out of the online stores where you already shop. Recently I was inspired by the Center for Humane Technology and recognized the potential for my app to insulate shoppers from the dark patterns of the ecommerce world. I have made some changes to point out how 1 Dollar Things insulates users from dark patterns so that they can make shopping choices with focus and clarity. I also added features to allow users to choose if they would like to give us credit for referring sales or not as well as the ability to know what cookies we are tracking and a way to reset them.
Please take a look and provide your honest feedback. I am trying my best to show what happens when an online store has its user’s interests in mind.
