Sorry if I my reply seemed to ignore the wider context of Andrew’s project, thanks for the helpful references to some of that context.

… is a laudable goal. But again, here be dragons. Those of us who have been online since the late 90s have seen the net providing P2P equality in many ways, and then corporations and venture capitalists working hard to reverse that, as laid out in The Social Dilemma. As I pointed out, economic history is full of examples of this, going right back to the origins of capitalism. In the face of this recurring pattern, it seems necessary to build in strategies for defending that P2P equality in the face of aggressive corporate enclosement. I look forward to reading Andrew’s exchange with Cory to see if this is discussed.
