Hi! I’m Lucy from New Zealand.
I ran a personal brand for nearly three years and, quite simply, it sucked the life out of me. It’s been two years since I left that brand behind, but the social media space continues to seduce people into thinking that #InstagramFame is desirable, and that committing to the performance of certain lifestyles, body images and aspirational endeavours are the way to achieve ‘success’. Often, these trends are a huge drain on one’s wallet and wellbeing (if such a thing exists anymore…). I recently launched a podcast called 'Selfie Reflective’ which unpacks the experience of ‘being online’ and hosts guests who have different perspectives on the status-update quo. My aim is to bridge the divide and contextualise high level info for the everyday user to get listeners thinking critically about their social media use, and what they want the future to look like.
I am interested in podcast feedback, ideas and guest recommendations, plus collaborative projects that focus on the merits of the coaching industry, child fame on YouTube and the normalisation of plastic surgery.
It’s great to be here - I’ve found my people!
